こちらの二段重ね陶箱は外は濃い青色、中は白灰色です。３カ所には抽象的な窓絵が描かれています。
この二段重ね陶箱を制作するのは高度な技術を要し、成形、乾燥までの行程に沢山の時間をかけます。
さらに陶器の生地を焼く場合は高温で焼く為、とても歪み易くなります。（私の場合は１２２０℃くらいまで上げます）二段重ね陶箱のように形が複雑な作品が出来上がることは偶然の産物と言ってもよいでしょう。

The glaze colors on this two tiered box are indigo blue on the outside and grayish white on the inside. Three “windows” contain brushed abstract designs.

Angular boxes are quite time consuming to construct, and must be dried under controlled conditions.

In addition, stoneware (“high fired” clay bodies) almost always faces the danger of warping during the firing process (my ware is taken up to 1220+ºC). I think it’s almost a miracle when a complex piece like this one comes from the kiln in such fine condition.
